Pancakes Recipe-
A pancake or hotcake or griddlecake or flapjack is a flat cake , often thin and round , prepared from a starch-based batter that may contain eggs , milk and butter and cooked on a hot surface such as a frying pan or griddle , often frying with oil or butter. Archaeological evidence suggests that pancakes were probably the earliest and most widespread cereal food eaten in prehistoric societies . The pancake's shape and structure varies worldwide.
Ingredients -

- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Powdered sugar (decoration)
How to make-
step 1- Place the milk , egg and oil in a container . then add the flour, sugar , baking powder and salt.
step 2- seal the container and shake it vigorously for at least 2 minutes.
step 3- Set the batter side for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, heat a large pan or non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
step 4- Add 1 tsp of oil to the pan. Add 2 tsp portions of the batter to the pan, cooking 3-4 at a time as per your conveince and size of pan.
step 5- Cook on the first side until bubbles appear on the surface, the edges begin to look dry , and rest middle portion is golden - brown for about 2-3 minutes.
step 6- Flip the pancakes. cook until the second sides are golden-brown, for about 4-5 minutes more.
step 7- Transfer to a warm plate. similarly cook more pancakes.
step 8- decorate it as per your choice.
tips -
- you can use powdered sugar and chopped fruits for decorating it.
- you can also use tuti-fruiti jellies , nuts and chocholate syrup for deocration .
- you can refrigerate the pancakes in an airtight container for upto 5 dyas - upto 2 months .
I tried this recipe and got to eat the best thing I had ever make. Just loved it.
